Exercise for Health Programme
Doncaster's Exercise for Health scheme is working towards helping people improve their health and well being by leading a more active lifestyle. The scheme provides participants with the support and advice that they need to exercise safely and appropriately.
Referrals are received from 44 participating surgeries and other health professionals including health visitors, district nurses and physiotherapists. Individuals who are suitable for the scheme can receive a 50% discount to exercise at any of the 7 delivery centres with specialist help from qualified exercise instructors.

We want to help to get more people, more active, more often
Why? Because overall, physical inactivity is estimated to cause 1.9 million deaths and 19 million Disability Adjusted Life Years globally. In the UK, the proportion of deaths attributed to physical inactivity in men and women is about 5-8%.
Three in every four people in the UK population aren't active enough to protect themselves against illness such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes and some cancers.
